  NOTES

   

  (1) We made neutralizing obsolete. No need to neutralize provided the recommended Destiny primers are used. Neutralizing is not full-proof. Alkalinity can still act on the applied paint, immediately or in the long run. Our primers’ application labor cost is equal to the application of Neutralizer anyway. Better to apply a sure system.

  (2) We made the 28 day waiting-for-concrete-to-dry obsolete. Above Destiny Paint primers may be applied on newly applied concrete plaster on the third day after the plastering provided the plaster surface is already dry. No need to wait 28 days. Makes painting faster.

  (3) For textured finishes apply Sintex Cast by mortar gun after the sanded putty, then apply topcoats. Castmay be small cast, medium cast or large cast.

  (4) Elastomeric Paints are of eggshell sheen. This may be increased to Semi-gloss by the addition of one (1) liter Destiny Elastomeric Hi-gloss Clear and mixed thoroughly. Or it may be made Hi-gloss by painting-over the topcoat with Elastomeric Hi-gloss Clear.

Note: Make sure no pure cement “puro”, calcomine or patching compound are used for smoothing out surfaces since these will react with the acidic swimming pool chemicals and cause craters on the surfaces.

MILDEWCIDES

– For mildewed painted surfaces or new painting to be done in mildew-prone areas such as cool, foggy and high altitude locations, hilly and mountainous locations, beach and seashore areas, areas with heavy or light foliage, areas with heavy pollution such as heavy traffic, areas near factories using organic materials such as copra, coconut oil and other fruits and oils, areas beside garbage dump sites, areas near esteros, rivers, lakes, swamps (or ex-swamps and rice paddies), or areas with vegetable oil fumes.

• Sanitizing – Mildewcide Solution (1 – 2 applications)
• Fungicide – Extra Fungicide (One 50 ml. vial to be mixed into four (4) liters of paint)

NOTES:

(1) The ELEGANCIA PREMIUM Latex and Enamel paint line may be used as a substitute for DESTINY (International Quality) Latex and Enamel paints where budget constraints require.
(2) The BINGO latex line may be used for mass housing, apartments, build and sell and other economy applications.

(3) Surface Preparation will depend on the condition of the substrate. The end condition is that all surfaces must be clean, dry, flat and sound.

(4) For surfaces with existing paint, if existing paints are deteriorated up the 25 percent, it may be prudent to scrape off the entire surfaces to bare substrate. Simply sand the surfaces just to remove any gloss.

• CLEAN – No dirt, dust, oil, grease, wax or any contaminant that will impair adhesion. Remove all concrete curing compounds, mold release oils, etc.
• DRY – No water, moisture, dampness or any wet previous coating.
• FLAT – Substrate must not be too smooth, glossy, glazed or burnished. Previous coatings must not be glossy. Light sand just to remove the gloss. Epoxies must be sanded when dried hard but not after five (5) hours or it may be too hard to sand.
• SOUND – No loose particles on bare substrate. No voids (kapak). No peeling or chalking on existing paints.
