Cracks - Structural or Superficial

Remedy:

1) Structural cracks are best referred to the Civil Engineers.

2) Superficial cracks are repaired using Destiny Paint products

Types of Superficial Cracks

Hairline - normal development during curing of concrete plaster

Remedy:

1) Apply one (1) coat Epoprime, Stucolife or Primeseal as primer

and sealer to seal all hairline cracks.

2) One (1) thin coat of Destiny Masonry

Wall Putty and sanding to smooth out the surfaces.

Larger than Hairline - Possible causes are movements of the structure during curing, or premature drying due to exposure to direct heat of the sun during curing.

Remedy:
1) Fill cracks with Destiny Masonry Wall Putty and sand smooth.

2) Apply one (1) coat Epoprime, Stucolife or Primeseal as primer

and sealer to seal all pores and hairline cracks.

3) Apply one (1) thin coat Destiny Masonry Wall Putty

and sand to smooth out the surfaces.

Profuse - Spread throughout the wall. Commonly the result of the use of pure cement “puro” for smoothing out the finish.Very highly alkaline.

Remedy:

1) Apply one (1) coat Epoprime, Stucolife or

Primeseal as primer and sealer to seal all hairline cracks and pores.

2) One (1) thin coat Destiny Masonry Wall

Putty and sand to smooth out the surface.

Crack with Leak - Most common leaks come from the exterior surfaces (exterior walls and roofdecks). Leaks are mostly rainwater. Other sources are leaking bathrooms and leaking pipes.

Remedy:

1) Establish and fix the source of the leak.

2) Waterproof the exterior wall or roofdeck.

3) Fill cracks on interior walls with Bluseal

Elastomeric Sealant.

4) Apply one (1) coat Epoprime, Stucolife or

Primeseal as primer and sealer to seal the

hairline cracks and pores.

5) Apply one (1) thin coat Destiny Masonry

Wall Putty and sand to smooth out the

surface.

Rough Surface - First step in concrete plaster application. Second step is Fine Finishing

Remedy:

1) First step in plaster application.

Second step is fine plaster finishing.

2) Apply one (1) coat EpoprimeStucolife

or Primeseal as primer and sealer to seal the

hairline cracks and pores.

3) Apply one (1) thin coat Destiny Masonry

Wall Putty and sand to smooth out the

surface.

Slightly textured.

No burnished spots.

No cracks.

No removed gravel stones.

No protruding imperfections.

No water leaks.

No stains.

Clean and Dry.

No loose particles.

Woodgrain - Normal texture of sawn wood and veneer (plywood) surfaces. Roughness, fineness and color depend on the species of the tree.

Remedy:

1) Sand the surface with fine sandpaper.

2) Appy Sintite or Sinlux Glazing Putty to

fill the grain and sand for fine finish.

3) Apply two (2) coats Destiny Quick Dry

Enamel White. Tint with Tru-tone

Tinting Color.

Gaps and Cracks - Gaps between wood members and cracks caused by uneven wood edges.

Remedy:

1) Sand the surface with fine sandpaper.

2) Apply Sintite or Sinlux Glazing Putty

to fill the gaps and cracks, then sand.

3) Apply Sintite or Sinlux Glazing Putty

on whole wall surface and sand smooth.

4) Apply two (2) coats Destiny Quick Dry

Enamel for walls, Destiny Flat Wall

Enamel for ceilings White. Tint with

Tru-tone Tinting Color.

Nailholes - Imbedded nails in wood and rusted nails unsightly stains on wood surfaces.

Remedy:

1) Apply Zero Rust Converter on all

nailholes. Let dry. Wipe off the residue

with a rag wet with paint thinner.

2) Fill the holes with Sintite or Sinlux

Glazing Putty and sand to a smooth finish.

3) Apply two (2) coats Destiny Quick Dry

Enamel for walls, Destiny Flat Wall

Enamel for ceilings White. Tint with Tru-

tone Tinting Color.

Rusted Steel Grills, Gates, Trusses, Fire Escapes, Aircon Supports - Caused by exposure to the elements.

Remedy:

1) Wirebrush and sand to remove all loose rust

scales. Remove welding scales if any (on

new steel fabrication).

2) Apply Zero Rust Converter on the whole

steel surfaces. Allow to dry (rust becomes

black). Wipe off residue with rag wet with

paint thinner.

3) Apply one (1) coat Destiny Epoxy Red

Oxide Primer or Destiny Metal Primer

Red Oxide.

Rusted G.I. Sheets - Caused by exposure to the elements.

1) Wirebrush and sand to remove all loose rust

scales. Remove welding scales if any (on

new steel fabrication).

2) Apply Zero Rust Converter on the whole

steel surfaces. Allow to dry (rust becomes

black). Wipe off residue with rag wet with

paint thinner.

3) Apply one (1) coat Destiny Epoxy Red

Oxide Primer or Destiny Metal Primer

Red Oxide.
